The mission of the WWCM family is to preserve the heritage, tradition, and values that have been passed down for over a Century and to celebrate the family’s Legacy. To maintain that heritage and to strengthen the family connections that have turned out generations of professionals and skilled tradesmen.
Far and wide would be the best way to described our familiy's achievements. Out of the simple fields of South Carolina have come doctors, lawyers, entrepreneur's, various industry professionals. But by all accounts our greatest achievement has been the birth of all of these birth of our members & the future in which they will create.
The Family Coat of Arms represents the heritage of four families: Williams-Waymers-Carrion-Murray. The plow is symbolic of our early beginnings on the farms of Elloree, Cope, Vance, Providence and surrounding areas in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The tri-square represents involvement in the trades and the lamp stands for a continuing quest for wisdom and knowledge.
The state of South Carolina is pictured with Orangeburg County Highlighted as the official homeland of the four families. The original source of family livelihood was the farm, therefore, the colors chosen for the coat of arms are green representing plants and crops and yellow for the soil. At the bottom, the tiny dot in the in the middle of South Carolina represents Elloree, the small town merging the four families.
The descendants and relatives of June Williams were born in 1795, and Celia Williams born 1802. William Carrion born 1850 and Rebecca Carrion, born 1830, Catherine Waymer (Bunch), born 1832 and Evan Murray born 1840 are celebrating the endurance and continuity of family. Products of a mixture of races—Black, white, and Indian. These four families are celebrating perseverance, endurance, and hope. We represent a richness measured in being proud, living a close bond of family love of fellowman, dignity, and a sense of purpose. The four families represented today came from Vance, Providence, and Cope (Union Township) and settled into the established town of Harlin City which later was incorporated as Elloree, South Carolina in Orangeburg County. Our family has a rich history that spans over several generations. We are proud of our heritage and love sharing our story with others.
From our roots in Elloree, Sc. our family tree has spread using the winds of time. Planting our seeds in all the major city's of the United States & recently for some making it back to Africa. From sharecroppers, field hands, nanny's & maids. We have grown to working class & executive level professionals, entrepreneurs of all facets of industry, even stars of professional stage and sports. Our families journey to the moon, has truly allowed us to reach the stars above.
